Woman of Vision...Learn to Enjoy Life!

As a woman of today’s modern society, I have learned independence and have been taught to set the bar high for what I want in life. The women in my life push me forward because they were not given the same opportunity in the past. Though this has served me well, granting me many opportunities, it has also brought a hidden emptiness in my life.
Looking from the outside, women who are high achievers seem to have it all together. They are self- motivated, polished and bring a lot to the table. They know God has called them as he called Deborah, but are faced with many challenges that this call brings. Though many admire them for their courage, many despise them. They face gender discrimination, relationship problems, emotional emptiness and dissatisfaction.
If you are this woman, I can identify with you. Sure, there are therapists and psychologists that can tell you their thoughts, but I believe Christ has a remedy for us. Though many may think you have it all together, you and Jesus know where your drive for achievement comes from. Maybe you were neglected as a child, maybe you think you have to work for other’s love because of what you have been through, whatever drives you to achieve, surrender it to God. Have the right motives as you reach for the stars.
God is the one who created you. He gave you that passion and boldness, but He wants you to be full of Him and not of yourself. You can love yourself and still have Jesus as first in your life. Jesus as the Lord of our life must have the final say in our lives. We have gotten accustomed to being in control and planning everything out, because we had to, but as you grow in God, He will begin to establish supremacy in your life.
God will test that stubbornness in you, by allowing uncomfortable things to happen in your life. If you are use to having money, you may walk through a season of financial strain to show you that God can provide. If you are use to taking care of all your needs, there may be a time where you will have to ask for help. These tests will help you understand how dependent you are on God and interdependent you are on people.
In every season, whether you are achieving high or below your standard remember that grace has the final say. God wants to lift those heavy burdens you are carrying. Solomon, of the bible, realized that nothing under the sun would bring Him the satisfaction He sought. He decided to simply enjoy what God had given Him. As you go about your day thank God for the coffee, the warm meal and the job you are able to work at. Savor every moment and be grateful to be in the land of the living.
